Autumn Home Tour 2017

Welcome to the Autumn Home Tour! If you are coming from Sarah’s blog @dreamingofhomemaking I’m sure you are still in awe. Isn’t her bedroom stunning?!? I am so inspired by her and the other accounts we are teamed up with. ❤️

My favorite season is here! Fall! 🍁 What’s not to love? The crisp air, the colorful leaves, boots, apple cider, festivals, I mean the list goes on and on.

I waited a little longer than normal to start decorating our home for fall this year, but life happens. Am I rite? However, the house is all decked out in fall now, and that’s what matters. 😉

Woods, whites,  and greenery are staples in our home, no matter what season. I went with simple touches of white mini-pumpkins and fresh eucalyptus to welcome my favorite season.

Kitchen

The kitchen is my favorite room in our home. My bed asleep is a close second. 😉

I love mixing old and new items. The old brass candlesticks were my great grandmothers. I found them in my parent’s basement when I went to visit during the holidays last year and my mom gave them to me. The crock was a $25 find at a thrift shop.

I have done tons of DIY projects but my most favorite of all are the open shelves in the kitchen. They really opened up the room and gave me a convenient place to put my baking necessities so I can bake things like this.

The best part about the open shelves, they cost me a total of $55! I get a ton of messages about them and when I tell them the price they are flabbergasted! Cray cray right? CLICK HERE for the full tutorial on my DIY open shelves.

If there was one thing I wish I was better at it would be gardening. It’s not that I don’t think I could plant a garden. It’s more about the maintenance and attentiveness needed. Maybe one day…

So until then, I will use my terra-cotta pots for tablescaping. 😂

I am in love with the 2 gallon Vintage Galvanized Watering Can with Wood Handle that I scored at Amazon. After I am done using it as a centerpiece, I will definitely use it for reals.

One of the things that genuinely makes me happy is having fresh flowers in the house. No matter how many times I redecorate, I will always see fresh flowers. I buy a majority of our flowers from Trader Joes. They are super inexpensive compared to a floral shop.

I really didn’t fall-ify this room, just added more house plants and Lightening McQueen. ⚡️

Entryway

I made this wreath last year and I still love it! The one I originally wanted from Pottery Barn was more money than I was willing to spend, so I made it at a fraction of the cost. The tutorial is HERE.

This space is more bare than I prefer, but I have a hard time styling this space. Maybe one day I will figure it out.

That’s a wrap! I hope you leave here feeling inspired. Xo
